Guide infants and toddlers through developmentally appropriate programming.
Think on their feet and responding to each child’s individual needs efficiently.
Display a patient and calm personality coupled with a loving approach to every child.
Build secure relationships with children and families.
Work closely with the program director to ensure that guidelines are adhered to.
Keep an electronic diary of the day’s events.
Maintain effective, working relationships with children, parents, and staff.
Implement theme-based curriculum focusing on Maine Learning Guidelines.
Implement child-centered daily routine, curriculum and learning environment that encourages the development of age-appropriate positive social interactions, active exploration, engagement in learning, and self-motivation to promote development in all domains for children of all abilities.
Conduct and document developmental screenings and assessments of children.
Ensure close communication with parents throughout the day should the need arise.

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED/HiSET (required). Step 4 or higher on MRTA Career Lattice. CPR certified and trained. Complete background check and immunizations. Previous experience in center based childcare. A passion for working with babies and toddlers. Patient, nurturing and thoughtful. Good communication skills verbal and written.
