The role is a fully remote position with 8 hours support shifts between the hours 7 AM – 5 PM EST.

The incumbent performs duties and tasks in accordance with standards established for the job and standards of practice outlined by the Maine State Board of Licensure in Medicine.

The Medical Assistant (MA) collaborates with all care team members, providing high-quality, compassionate care consistent with the Mission and Values.
The role will be primarily responsible for phone screening (non-triage communication) of patient care needs and relaying information to physician practices. The role will not diagnose or triage patients.
The MA will also communicate providers’ instructions and results to patients, manage the Cerner desktop, facilitate patient care coordination, and act as a clinical resource for other support staff in the practices and the Patient Service Center.

Examples of support include:
Update patients on the status of their medication refills
Provide instructions related to testing associated with scheduled visits
Relay messages to patients from Providers documented in the patient’s chart
Add addendums to existing messages in patient charts (closed-loop communication)
This fast-paced call center environment requires efficiency in multi-tasking in multiple software systems, including Cerner EHR Powerchart and message center, MicroSoft Team chats, Cerner scheduling, and NICE phone system
The primary focus is on Cerner EHR experience
