JOB SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse at D’Youville Pavilion is an essential member of the patient care team, responsible for the delivery of direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process in all areas of the unit.  The RN will be responsible for assessing patients on admission and throughout stay, developing and periodically updating individualized, multidisciplinary plan of care, and reviewing discharge plans/instructions with patients/families and documenting a discharge summary.  They would administer medications, IV therapy, blood and its components according to established clinical standards and policies.

The Transitional Rehabilitation Unit occupies the second floor of d’Youville Pavilion.  This 42-bed unit provides short-term, skilled nursing and rehab services to patients recovering from fractures, joint replacements, back surgery, stroke, and other illnesses or injuries of a short-term nature where a rehab approach might be beneficial.  Nursing services often include IV therapy, wound care and geriatric assessment and management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:

Associates Degree in Nursing Required
Valid State of Maine RN license required
BLS certification required

Experience:

At least 1 year previous experience preferred, but not required

Other Skills Required:

Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills required
Highly organized
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to handle multiple priorities
