Ready to spend your summer learning about land conservation and gaining hands-on experience caring for Maine’s beautiful landscapes? This entry-level, residential summer internship could be the perfect fit! We have up to 11 positions available for motivated students who want to make a difference.
What’s the program
You’ll join a cohort of interns placed with Maine land trusts and conservation organizations—one intern per host site. No prior experience required! You’ll learn by doing, with responsibilities that may include:
- Trail maintenance and stewardship projects
- Working with volunteers
- Monitoring conservation easements
- Other hands-on land care activities
Details
- Pay: $18/hour
- Housing: Provided for most positions, if needed
- Dates: June 1 – August 7, 2026
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week for 10 weeks
Who Can Apply
- Current student in Maine (or with a Maine connection)—undergraduate, certificate, or trade school
- Self-motivated, eager to learn, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Reliable transportation required
