Multi-Site Facilities & Maintenance Specialist
Central Maine | Full-Time

Alternative Services, NE is seeking a skilled and dependable Multi-Site Facilities & Maintenance Specialist to support 16 residential group homes and two administrative offices across four central Maine counties. This position works directly with the Executive Director to ensure all properties are safe, compliant, and operating efficiently.

Position Summary
The Multi-Site Facilities & Maintenance Specialist is responsible for performing, coordinating, and documenting maintenance and minor renovation work across multiple residential and office locations. This role requires strong technical skills, physical stamina, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while coordinating with contractors and agency leadership.

Essential Responsibilities
• Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance and service requests across multiple sites
• Ensure all homes and offices meet licensing standards, safety requirements, and agency expectations
• Perform a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks, including:
o Plumbing, electrical, HVAC troubleshooting
o Appliance repair
o Carpentry, drywall repair, painting
o Lighting and fixture replacement, caulking, general repairs
• Maintain a fast pace while upholding quality and safety standards
• Accurately document all work performed, materials used, and follow-up needs in the work order system
• Shop for materials and supplies, ensuring best pricing and value
• Coordinate and communicate with outside contractors for major repairs or remodels
• Build positive, respectful working relationships with residents and staff
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Schedule & Availability
• Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Availability during storms, emergencies, or urgent situations may be required
• Daily use of a company vehicle from the main office

Qualifications
• Demonstrated experience in facilities maintenance, property maintenance, or related trade work
• Ability to manage multiple locations and prioritize work independently
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
• Comfortable using work order systems and basic technology
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
• Ability to pass background checks required for licensed residential care settings

Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs
• Ability to climb ladders, kneel, bend, and stand for extended periods
• Ability to perform physical work in a variety of indoor and outdoor conditions

Tools & Equipment
• Must provide basic personal tools (some tools and equipment provided)
• Company truck provided for daily work use

Preferred (Not Required)
• Experience in licensed residential, healthcare, or human services environments
• Knowledge of Maine building codes or licensing requirements
• Trade certifications (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) a plus
