2025 Student of the Year

Auburn, ME – Central Maine Community College (CMCC) is proud to announce that Victoria Wile, a second-year student in the Building Construction Technology (BCT) program, has been named the College’s 2025 Student of the Year.

Each year, CMCC selects one student for the Student of the Year Award. The recipient is someone who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to the College through strong academics, campus involvement, and community service. For the 2024–2025 academic year, Victoria Wile has been selected for this prestigious honor.

Victoria has shown unwavering dedication to both her studies and the broader community. She will graduate in May with a degree in Building Construction Technology, driven by a genuine passion for building, hands-on work, and improving the spaces around her. Her motivation and energy have set a high standard for both her peers and the faculty at CMCC.

As a member of CMCC’s Maintenance Team, Victoria has played a key role in nearly every construction and building maintenance project since her arrival. What distinguishes her is not only the high quality of her work but also the enthusiasm and joyful spirit she brings to every task. She approaches each project with commitment and a desire to do her very best.

In a field traditionally dominated by men, Victoria is blazing a trail for women in construction. She is a natural leader, inspiring others with her drive and dedication. Her leadership extends beyond campus into the broader community. A lifelong member of the Girl Scouts, she has always been passionate about service and community engagement. When the Boy Scouts of America opened its doors to women in 2019, Victoria co-founded one of the first all-women troops in the nation—Troop #2019 in Lewiston. She earned the rank of Eagle Scout and now serves with the Order of the Arrow, Scouting’s National Honor Society.

On campus, Victoria is also an active member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, the Gaming Club, and the National Society of Leadership and Success, exemplifying her commitment to leadership and involvement.

Victoria was recognized at the Maine Community College System (MCCS) Student of the Year ceremony, held on Wednesday, April 23, at Maple Hill Farm in Hallowell. The event included a celebratory luncheon honoring recipients from each of Maine’s seven community colleges. Following the ceremony, honorees were invited to a tea at the Blaine House, where they were welcomed by the Governor and elected officials, further acknowledging their outstanding achievements.

CMCC is proud to celebrate Victoria for her exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and service. Her dedication and impact on both the College and her community are truly inspiring. We look forward to all she will accomplish in the future.
