January 6, 2017

Registration Deadline: January 24

The Corporate and Community Services Department at Central Maine Community College will offer a CompTIA A+ certification course on Tuesday and Thursdays, January 31 through March 23, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Registration for this course is open and ongoing. For more information or to register online please visit www.cmcc.edu/ccs/ or email training@cmcc.edu. Deadline for registration is January 24.

This course is designed to prepare students for the current CompTIA A+ exams (220-901 & 220-902). The CompTIA A+ certification validates foundational knowledge and skills of computer professionals. It is an international, vendor-neutral certification of a technician’s ability to perform the following tasks: installation, preventative maintenance, networking, security and troubleshooting, and basic functions and services. Many companies and organizations recommend or require the CompTIA A+ certification for IT employees.

The cost for this certification prep course is $899 and includes 63 hours of guided instruction, all course materials, six-month access to a practice exam (valued at $80) and two exam vouchers (valued at $398). The exam must be scheduled and attempted at CMCC no later than April 28, 2017. This certification can also be applied toward college credit.

This workforce solution is funded in part by a $13 million grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration. This is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action workforce solution. Adaptive equipment will be provided upon request to individuals with disabilities.
