What is the Outdoor Club?
The Outdoor Club at Central Maine Community College has been created to educate people on how to enjoy recreational outdoor
activities and to provide a safe environment to enjoy those activities. Student leaders with the help of our advisor Mike Henry
and Jonathan Young are continuing to organize a number of activities throughout the school year.
In the past, the Outdoor Club sponsored the following:
• LL Bean 1/2 Day Ocean Kayaking Tour
• Fall Foliage Hike on Pleasant Mountain
• Urban hike of the Freedom Trail in Boston Mass
• GPS training on the CMCC campus
• Hiking at Bradbury Mountain State Park
• Hiking at Thorncrag Bird Sanctuary
• Rock Wall Evening
• Discover SCUBA
• Skiing Snowboarding and Snowshoeing
• Bike Ride in Bar Harbor
The club continues to run monthly meetings, where our planning and follow-up discussions take place. We are looking for your ideas for
upcoming events. We are also looking for club officers to help set the direction for upcoming year.
Funds from the Student Services Office help to offset the cost of events, too! The commitment is a monthly meeting to plan, schedule and
learn about an activity and the actual monthly outdoor activity.
If you are interested in getting involved with this group e-mail Mike Henry. or
Jonathan Young.
