Care Team

The CARE Team is a group of faculty and staff who are dedicated to following up on reports of students who may need additional support and outreach. Please report any situation to the CARE Team such as a mental health referral, suspicious activity, unusual or threatening behavior, injury/illness, assault or abuse.

Sexual Violence Awareness at CMCC & Title IX

Safety for everyone at CMCC is a core value. Knowing what sexual violence is and how to protect yourself is essential for everyone’s safety. Protecting yourself from sexual assault depends on knowing the meaning of consent at the time of sexual activity. Please watch the Cup of Tea video to learn the basic meaning of consent and know the following definition:

 

RELIABLE CONSENT MEANS:

  1. Sexual interaction is always voluntary   
  2. Consent is communicated by words or actions that gives both parties clear permission regarding willingness to engage in sexual activity
  3. And must be given at the time of sexual activity  
  4. For each septate sexual activity

**Silence or lack of resistance does not demonstrate consent**

***Drinking or on drugs means the person intoxicated is not able to give consent***
