FAQs
Quick answers to common questions about campus safety, parking rules, transit, and college policies.
How do I report a crime, suspicious activity, or safety concern?
For immediate threats, dial 911 or call Campus Safety at 207-755-5202. Non-emergencies can be reported to Safety staff, Residence Life, or through CMCC’s online incident reporting portal. CMCC’s Annual Security and Clery Act Report is available on the college website.
What are CMCC’s active threat protocols?
CMCC follows the Run-Hide-Fight framework for active threats. Room numbers are posted on exterior classroom/office windows for emergency responders.
How do emergency alerts work?
CMCC uses Rave Alert to send urgent text, phone, and email notifications for closures or safety threats. You can manage your contact details on the Emergency Notifications page.
What is CMCC’s Sexual Harassment & Title IX policy?
CMCC will not tolerate sex-based discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual assault, or any Title IX offenses. Reports can be submitted directly to the Title IX Coordinator or Campus Safety. For full resources and reporting guidance, visit the Student Right to Know page.
What is CMCC’s policy on drugs, alcohol, and student conduct?
CMCC enforces a strict alcohol- and drug-free campus policy in accordance with federal, state, and local laws. All students must adhere to the MCCS Student Code of Conduct, available on the Student Right to Know page.
What is the Clery Act Annual Security Report and where can I find it?
The Clery Act is a federal law requiring colleges to disclose campus safety policies and local crime data. CMCC publishes an Annual Security Report featuring three years of crime statistics, emergency protocols, and fire safety logs, accessible on the Safety & Security Clery Report page.
How are parking rules enforced?
Campus parking and traffic regulations are enforced by the Auburn Police Department. Vehicles parked illegally—such as in fire lanes, unauthorized handicapped spaces, or blocking access routes—are subject to city ticketing or towing.
Are their bike racks on campus?
Yes. Bike racks are available near academic buildings and residence halls.
What if I lose or damage my Student ID?
Visit Central Services or email cmcccentralservices@mainecc.edu to request a replacement ($10 fee).
If you live on campus, report lost cards to Residence Life staff immediately so building access can be updated.
