All-Maine Academic Team for 2017 Announced
April 20, 2017

Fourteen Maine community college students have been named to the 2017 All-Maine Academic Team for two-year colleges. They were honored at a ceremony in Augusta hosted by the Maine Community College System Board of Trustees. The two CMCC students receiving the award, which includes a $500 scholarship, are Misty Edgecomb of Auburn and Melissa Potter of Lewiston.
Currently a General Studies student who has earned high honors and president’s honors, Misty plans to complete a degree in business administration and management at CMCC and then transfer to a four-year college to study human physiology. She is the owner of M E Massage Therapy of Lewiston.
Melissa earned a certificate in Culinary Arts last spring, and will complete an associate’s degree in Restaurant Management in May. A high honors student in both programs, she was honored last December as the College for ME Androscoggin Student of the Year.
The All-Maine Academic Team is a program of Phi Theta Kappa, an international honor society for two-year colleges. Students are nominated and selected for the team by their college based on outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and service. The All-Maine Academic Team is co-sponsored by Northeast Trophy, Phi Theta Kappa, and the MCCS.
