Weatherization is a program that provide home improvements such as: insulation, air infiltration, exhaust vents, poly ground cover, and carbon monoxide detectors.

The Weatherization Specialist performs home energy audits and inspections for the Agency’s Weatherization Assistance Program, and provides field support for other Housing Department programs and services that coincide with weatherization projects.

Duties include but are not limited to:

1) Performing a minimum of 8 energy audits and/or inspections per month on housing units eligible for Weatherization, including required diagnostic testing.

2) Prepare and issue contractor work orders.

3) Support CHIP, AST, and Home Repair programs that coincide with WAP projects.

4)  Input necessary data into computer system for WAP, CHIP and any other current Housing Program.


1) Adequate transportation, a valid driver's license, and meet WCAP's insurance requirements. 2) Ability to meet WCAP's background clearance requirements. 3) Be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved medical/religious exemption on file.


1) at least one year of prior work experience in housing, building trades or a related field, preferred. 2) Ability to draw scaled floor plans and elevations of dwellings being audited. 3) Good math skills with basic geometry for determining area, perimeter and volume of structures. 4) Strong written and verbal communication skills. 5) Strong time management and organizational skills. 6) Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision. 7) Good working knowledge of Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook. 8) High School Diploma or equivalent. 9) BPI Energy Auditor certification a plus but will train. 6) BPI Quality Control Inspector Certification a plus but will train.
Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour
