Maritime Applied Physics Corporation (MAPC) is a Baltimore-based engineering, research, development, and production company focused on marine technologies. We have a current opening for an experienced Project Production Coordinator in the Brunswick, Maine, office.

Primary responsibilities:

Responsible for managing the following:

Customer relationships,
Quote and contract development,
Subcontractor selection and oversight,
Material and equipment purchasing,
Assembly schedules,
Internal and customer inspections,
Shipment, delivery, and
Invoice initiation of production items for components manufactured by MAPC for Department of Defense contracts.

This work is done in conjunction with other MAPC Engineering, Production and Business Support personnel based in Maine, Maryland, and Minnesota.

This position also requires the willingness and ability to perform straightforward fabrication and assembly steps, and to coordinate and participate in on-site technical support for delivered products.  Typical travel is < 10% and within the United States. Personnel in this position also participate in the review of new product data to assess readiness to transition from a prototype or limited production to a standard production item.


Experience in coordinating fabrication and assembly tasks at a detailed level.

Familiarity with Department of Defense/Department of the Navy parts acquisition processes and systems, including but not limited to at least some of the following:

DLA Internet Bid Board System

Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO)

DLA’s Vendor Service Module

Government Source Inspections and DCMA requirements

DPAS Ratings

Commercial Asset Viability (CAV)

Substantiated affinity for detail in scheduling, contracts, and design review.

Experience in technical writing for a broad audience and a collaborative attitude towards internal colleagues and external customers /suppliers.

Responsiveness: MAPC often receives a tight turnaround for customer quotes.  Ability to respond to emails within 12 to 24 hours is essential to this position.


Past experience with shipyard or defense systems fabrication activities as a planner or project manager.

Successful past work in continuous process improvement programs (actual improvement, not just the acronym).

Experience or certification in the application of quality management programs and work with subcontractors in the resolution of quality problems.

Past US military service, particularly in a shipboard/repair facility assignment in a primary or collateral duty logistics capacity.
