Job Description:
This is technical services work in performing difficult and moderately complex engineering duties in a variety of field and office engineering specialties. Responsibilities include drafting and review of plans, quantity and cost estimating, development of specifications, and the assembly of the final contract documents for bridge projects. Knowledge of engineering principals, mathematics, and computer-aided design and drafting software is required. Supervision is exercised over subordinate technical personnel performing moderately complex tasks. Work is performed under limited supervision.

Job Description:
This is technical services work in performing difficult and moderately complex engineering duties in a variety of field and office engineering specialties. Work is performed under limited supervision. This position serves as a member of the Maine DOT Property Office based out of Region 1 in Scarborough, Maine. Primary responsibilities include conducting topographic, GPS, construction, and other survey work as part of a field crew. Additional responsibilities include research and acquisition of public and civil records, tracking and data entry of Property Owner Reports (PORs), and maintenance and calibration of survey equipment. Work requires the ability to use complex electronic survey equipment and related software, computer skills to process survey data, and perform editing tasks associated with research and data entry in Realty Management System (RMS). May act as survey crew chief on an as-needed basis. This position requires attention to detail and a commitment to acquiring accurate survey and property information. Work will be conducted throughout the Southern Region and at times performed under limited supervision. Applicants with prior survey experience will be given preference for this position.
