JOB DESCRIPTION
The Accounting Assistant will support the finance department in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for candidates with an Associate’s degree in Accounting to gain practical experience and apply their academic knowledge in a professional setting.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage essential bookkeeping tasks including invoice entry, bill payments, and statement reconciliation
Process job payouts and receive customer payments
Organize and maintain financial documentation including packing slips, purchase orders, and credit applications
Assist with vendor management including tracking insurance certificates, W-9s, and lien waivers
Support the weekly payroll process by reviewing time entries and processing reimbursements
Help with month/quarter/year-end financial processes and tax documentation
Prepare and submit sales tax forms and fuel tax refunds
Manage company vehicle information, registrations, and inspections
Handle accounting and vendor-related phone calls
Assist with mail collection and distribution
Provide support to team members as needed
SKILLS REQUIRED
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
Basic accounting knowledge and computer proficiency
Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment
Creative problem-solving skills
Understanding of confidentiality requirements for financial information
Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities
Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s degree in Accounting (required)
Experience with accounting software preferred but not required – training provided
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Familiarity with QuickBooks is a plus
