Maintenance Director – Anticipated Opening

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Director to join our small school community of approximately 70 students. This full-time, year around, position is responsible for the overall care, cleanliness, and maintenance of our single school building and surrounding grounds.

Hours: 5:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. during the school year with flexibility during school breaks and the summer time.

Anticipated state date: July 1, 2026

Responsibilities:

Perform all daily cleaning and janitorial duties within the school building

Oversee general maintenance of both the interior and exterior of the facility

Conduct routine inspections and perform minor repairs as needed

Handle snow removal and lawn care

Maintain service and maintenance records for all building systems, equipment, and grounds

Coordinate with administration and outside vendors for larger repairs or scheduled services

Ensure the school environment is safe, clean, and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors

Requirements:

Experience in building maintenance or facilities management. Knowledge of small engines and light carpentry skills. Ability to work efficiently and independently. Strong communication and organizational skills. Must enjoy working in an environment with children and staff. Reliability, attention to detail and problem solving skills are essential. Ability to move freely (balancing, climbing, crawling, driving, squatting, standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, and repetitive hand/finger motions) and lift up to a maximum of fifty (50) pounds without assistance.
