This is a great opportunity for a talented, at-heart-gear-head looking to elevate their skill-set and work in a specialized industry.

This is a crucial position in our busy machine shop/engine rebuilding service bays, that offers key support in Industrial Engine Disassembly and Cleaning, loading and off-loading of engine parts and components, equipment maintenance and shop maintenance, including cleaning.

Sample duties include:

-Cleaning and preparation of engine and components, including chemical tank cleaning and rinsing, dry media blasting of components, visual inspection of components, and wet media blasting.

-Confident with use of precision measuring tools (micrometers, gauges and calipers).

-Identify worn areas and clean/smooth surfaces within specified tolerances to fit, trim or clean parts and components using hand and power tools.

-Operation and maintenance of shop equipment and machinery including hot tank, wet and dry blasting units, fork lift, cranes and hoists, hand tools (including power tools) along with keeping a maintenance log.

-Committed to a clean and organized shop which includes trips to the dumpster, vacuuming floors and equipment, re-filling of cleaning agents and solvents.

-Removal and disassembly of cylinder heads, including valve assemblies, disassembly of oil coolers and visual inspections, removal of pistons, connecting rods, push rods and lifters from engines.

While performing duties of this job, there will prolonged standing ; with potential for 8 hours or more, with breaks afforded.

 

 

 

 

 

Requirements:

Valid Maine Driver's license. Non-smoker. Must possess good physical dexterity and be able to perform manual tasks and body movements including: walking, standing, climbing and reaching, heavy lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs. Absolutely must be punctual and reliable.

Qualifications:

At least two years automotive/diesel engine mechanical experience or equivalent. High School diploma or Equivalent. Trade School completion in Auto Mechanics, Precision Machining, or similar. Must be able to use precision measuring instruments.
