The Bus Monitor is responsible for supervising and monitoring children while waiting for, boarding, and exiting the school bus/van, while working closely with the driver. The Monitor will also be responsible for all children while the bus/van is in transit, ensuring confidentiality and safety at all times. Schedule is generally Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 3pm, varying by route. Daily schedules may include downtime of up to three hours and work hours are based on service needs. Occasional evening and/or weekend training may be required.
Starting Rate of Pay: $16.00
To Qualify: A high school diploma or G.E.D. is required.
Drivers must have current certifications or complete the following trainings (agency sponsored ad provided) prior to transporting passengers:
• CPR First Aid
• Passenger Assistance and Safety
• Defensive Driving
• Classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel instruction sufficient to enable the driver to operate the vehicle in a safe and efficient manner, to safely run a fixed route, to administer basic first aid in case of injury, and to handle emergency situations, including vehicle evacuation and routine maintenance.
Considerable stamina is needed to bend, lift, carry, etc., and background checks are completed upon hire.
Pre-employment physical, SBI, DMV, DHHS fingerprinting, sex offender registry, federal debarment, and fraud background checks must be completed upon offer of hire and as a condition of employment. Must have a valid driver’s license and liability insurance. In-house training offered to the selected individual.
