Our Children’s Services Department is hiring a Family Service Advocate (FSA) at our Chisholm Early Learning Center for August 2023. The FSA provides support while engaging with families in meeting both their children’s and family’s needs; advocates for families by working with other local social service agencies as needed; assists parents in obtaining appropriate medical and dental care for their children; supports parent engagement in center and community activities, committees and educational workshops; completes paperwork, reports, and maintains records and data on individual children. This position is 40 hours per week, generally following a school year calendar. Travel throughout the service area is required.

Requirements:

To Qualify: High School diploma or G.E.D required; must have a credential in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field or obtain within 18 months of hire. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; experience coordinating parent activities; considerable stamina to regularly lift, bend, carry and perform other high-energy activities; and knowledge of community resources; a valid driver's license; telephone; computer/word-processing skills, preferably Microsoft Office; ability to function autonomously and as part of a team. Must obtain and maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications. Pre-employment physical, SBI, DMV, DHHS, Maine Sex Offender Registry, fingerprinting, and federal debarment background checks must be completed upon offer of hire and as a condition of employment.
