Our Children’s Services Department is hiring a Teacher at our Norway Early Learning Center in our Preschool childcare classroom. This position is part of a teaching team, under the direction of a Lead Teacher, that plans experiences to meet young children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development and engages with families in meeting both their children’s and family’s needs. Other responsibilities include completing paperwork and reports and maintaining records and data on individual children. Travel within the service area is required. This position is 40 hours/week for 50 weeks/year.

Requirements:

Must have experience in an early childhood setting; excellent verbal and written communication skills; considerable stamina to regularly lift, bend, carry and perform other high-energy activities; a valid driver's license; telephone; computer/word-processing skills, preferably Microsoft Office; ability to function autonomously and as part of a team. Must obtain and maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications. A pre-employment physical, SBI, DMV, DHHS, Maine Sex Offender Registry, fingerprinting, and federal debarment background checks must be completed upon offer of hire as a condition of employment.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED is required, with a commitment to complete an agency-paid Child Development Associate credential program or enroll in approved college coursework or a program that will lead to an Associate within two years of the time of hire.
