Description:

We are seeking an experienced, energetic Lead Preschool Teacher for our Head Start Classroom at our Norway Early Learning Center. This position is 40 hours, year-round.

Starting rate: $20.52/hr

Essential Duties:

Lead a high-quality preschool classroom team
Planning activities and tailoring curriculum to meet children’s social, emotional, physical, literacy, and cognitive development
Communicating with and supporting families in meet their children’s and families’ needs
Work with management to maintain Head Start Performance Standards and Licensing requirements

Other Requirements: Successful candidates must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate others; ability to function autonomously and as part of a team; considerable stamina to regularly lift, bend, carry, and perform other high-energy activities; competency with Microsoft Office; ability to obtain and maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications. Pre-employment physical, SBI, DMV, Maine Sex Offender Registry, DHHS fingerprinting, fraud, and federal debarment background checks must be completed upon offer of hire and as a condition of employment; valid driver’s license and travel within the service area is required. *No Covid Vaccination requirement*

Qualifications:

Desired Qualifications: Minimum of an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field; a Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of three years of supervisory experience is preferred. Minimum of five years of experience in early care and education is preferred.
