Lead Pre-K Teacher

Our Children’s Services Department, Cape Cod Hill Early Learning Center, is hiring a Lead Teacher- Pre-K. The position is part of our collaborative Pre-K program at the Cape Cod Hill School in New Sharon.  The Lead Teacher- Pre-K will lead a teaching team that plans experiences to meet young children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development and engages with families in meeting both their children’s and family’s needs. In addition, the position promotes meaningful family engagement experiences, including developing family goals, providing social service referrals, and assisting families in obtaining appropriate medical and dental care for their children. Other responsibilities include completing paperwork and reports and maintaining records and data on individual children.  This position is 40 hours/week for 40 weeks/year and requires travel throughout the service area.

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; considerable stamina to regularly lift, bend, carry, and perform other high-energy activities; a valid driver’s license; telephone; computer/word-processing skills, preferably Microsoft Office; ability to function autonomously and as part of a team. Must obtain and maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications and State of Maine Teaching Certification. A pre-employment physical, SBI, DMV, sex offender registry, DHHS and DOE fingerprinting, and federal debarment and fraud background checks must be completed upon offer hire and as a condition of employment.


To Qualify: A current or conditional 0-81(Pre-K) state of Maine certification is required for this position.
