GENERAL INFORMATION:
Department: Public Works
Division: Open Space/Tree-Work
Barg. Unit: Non-Union
Status: Full-Time (40 hours/week); Seasonal.

SUMMARY: Seasonal Tree and Open Space workers have a direct impact on the overall appearance and maintenance of all public areas within the City of Lewiston. Learn a new trade while enjoying each day working outdoors all summer!

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma, or equivalent, preferred. Valid Maine Driver’s License in good standing, is required. Preference given to applicants with a valid Class B (CDL) Maine Driver’s License. Having a CDL with N Tank Endorsement is a plus!

Experience with lawn mowing and/or landscaping is preferred, but will train the right candidate.

WORK ACTIVITIES: General maintenance and landscaping activities include: mowing, weed whacking, raking, shoveling, sidewalk sweeping, painting, planting, mulching, pruning and weeding. Additional duties include pool maintenance, catch basin inspections, and athletic field preparation such as infield raking, line marking and setting up athletic equipment. May also operate a litter vac or a mechanical sidewalk sweeper.
