Who can use these services?
All current students and alumni can use any service we provide at no cost. Others may use the services but there
may be a charge.
How much do the different services cost?
All services to current students and alumni are free. Prices for others may vary depending on the service.
Career Exploration
Come in and utilize our resources to increase the chance of finding the best career for
you. We have many tools that can make your career choice easier, quicker, and less frustrating.
Self-Directed Search (SDS): This is a very simple way to organize interests into general
categories.
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI): Certain personalities are better suited for some work
environments. The MBTI helps determine selected personality characteristics that individuals may want to
consider in their job search.
Strong Interest Inventory: The Strong Interest Inventory is based on the idea that
individuals are more satisfied and productive when they work in jobs or at tasks that they find interesting
and when they work with people whose interests are similar to their own.
Books and Publications: There are a number of books and publications available to give you
important information such as job duties, working conditions, required training and education, earnings, and
even job prospects on thousands of occupations. These are all important factors in selecting a rewarding career.
Résumés make the first impression so come in and get assistance to ensure you make the best impression
you can.
The cover letter is equally important as a resume in convincing a potential employer that you are the ideal
candidate. We can help you to be sure your letter is as effective as possible.
