Jonathan Young
Jon discovered his love of the outdoors while a student at Bates College, spending much of his time with its Outing Club during his undergraduate years there. Since then he has remained both active and interested in many outdoor activities such as hiking, backpacking, X-skiing and snowshoeing as well as fishing, biking and kayaking. He is a member of the Appalachian Mountain Club's 4,000 Footer Club, the Long Trail End-to-Ender's and has hiked just over one-half of the Appalachian Trail. Jon earned his Wilderness Advanced First Aid rating in the Spring of 2008.
Over the years, Jon has lead youth of many ages (junior high to college) on assorted hikes and overnight trips into the New England wilderness. More recently, he has been “retooling” his gear and his techniques toward ultra-light hiking. With two daughters “grown and gone”, Jon now lives with wife Nancy their cat Duke. He still plans on thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail one of these summers!

Mike Henry
Mike's passion for the outdoor started at a very young age when his parents took him camping all over Maine
and parts of Canada. During junior high and high school Mike spent his summer living in a tent by the family camp at Beach Hill Pond.
With three brothers and a sister there was always someone to paddle the canoe or canvas kayak.
Mike is a Registered Maine Guide in both Sea Kayaking and Recreation, with a Wilderness First Responder rating. During the summer Mike can be found at the LL Bean Outdoor Discovery School or OLTOA teaching Ocean Kayaking.
Mike's first passion is his wife Lisa and their two Siberian Huskies.
