Technology Firm Director from India Visits CMCC

Central Maine Community College President Scott Knapp recently welcomed Alok Gupta, Ph.D to the campus. Dr. Gupta is the managing director of Glowtronics Pvt. Ltd., of Mysore, India, (www.glowtronics.com) a company that provides metal works, welding, and testing services. The company also operates an industrial education center with programs in mechanical drafting, electronics, and plumbing. Gupta and Knapp discussed the possibility of establishing a long-term cooperative relationship between CMCC and the industrial center in India. Gupta, pictured here with Knapp in the machine tool technology lab at the College, briefly attended CMCC (then CMVTI) when he resided in Auburn back in the 1970’s.
