Where do I find articles?

You will find many psychology publications in these databases
Proquest Direct on-campus link. The Psychology Journals database has over 520 full text titles and indexing for more than 610 titles.

among the dozen databases here are Medline, the Biomedical Reference Collection, Health Source - consumer edition,  Nursing & Allied Health Collection, as well as Academic Search Premier
National Library of Medicine includes Medline and Pub Med Central: full text biomedical and life sciences journals

These databases are not your best first choice for psychology topics
CQ Researcher  reports, in-depth analysis of issues in the news
ERIC covers education, some full text coverage
FirstSearch covers databases that index journals, dissertations, and Worldcat (OCLC's catalog of books and other material)

Managing citations and writing your paper

Tip: create your citations as you collect research material, and save your list in Noodlebib. This will make creating your in-text citations a breeze. Don't make creating your bibliography the last thing you do in the research process, it takes twice as much time.

Social Psychology Network a directory of resources covering various topics such as gender and psychology, social cognition and interpersonal psychology

 

Your Library Card

Your library card is your CMCC ID.  Student Services will print your CMCC ID.  Bring your ID to the library, where we will activate your card.

Borrowing Material

Your active library card allows you to check out material at CMCC, Auburn Public Library, and Lewiston Public Library.  Our loan policies are listed on our website: Circulation Services and Procedures Material can also be requested through Minerva or MaineCat, and shipped to CMCC

Interlibrary Loan

Valerie Okrent handles interlibrary loans.  She can order any material for you that can not be requested through online catalogs, or downloaded from a database
