CCS 627-21: Advanced High Pressure Boiler Operator
Boiler theory and principles will be covered in depth, as well as construction, design and repairs of High pressure boilers. Steam distribution, steam turbine construction and operation, gas turbine combined cycle systems will be reviewed. Water pre-treatment, boiler water chemistry and blowdown, as well as condensate conditioning and return will be emphasized. Fuel (liquid, gaseous, and solid) combustion and handling, combustion controls and flame safety systems, and pollution controls are of major importance. Boiler operation and maintenance procedures, optimization and efficiency, and day to day duties of the power plant will be stressed.
Who should attend?
A licensed boiler operator who is currently operating within the state of Maine. The information covered will aid an operator who may want to take their 3rd class or 2nd class engineer’s license or just a review for personal knowledge.

CCS 406-21: High Pressure Boiler Operator
Boiler operators control high-pressure boilers that supply steam to heat buildings and generate power for industrial purposes and are employed in industrial and manufacturing plants, hospitals, universities, government offices and commercial institutions.
This course provides you with the knowledge and techniques to operate a steam generating plant in a safe and efficient manner and offers a practical approach to power plant operation. It is designed to prepare you to sit for the High Pressure Boiler Operator licensing exam.
Who should attend?
Individuals currently operating high pressure boilers, and those seeking employment as high pressure boiler operators, who intend to sit for the state of Maine boiler operator licensing exam or wish to gain knowledge on a variety of subjects relating to power plant systems.
