Mike Bridges, Head Coach

The Lady Mustangs are led by Head Coach Mike Bridges.

Coach Bridges was an outstanding High School athlete excelling in basketball and baseball. He began his coaching career under the tutelage of Scarborough High School Athletic Director Larry Jensen.

After coaching freshman basketball for two seasons, Coach “B” took over a stagnant women’s varsity team that had not qualified for the tournament in eight seasons. Bridges proceeded to lead the Lady Redskins to seven straight tournament appearances.

From there he moved on to Division III Westbrook College where he took over a program that in its first year, finished 2-16. Under Bridges direction, they then won the Mayflower Conference in his first two seasons.

Coach “B” retired in 1994 and came out of retirement in 1997 to coach the newly formed Lady Mustangs. Bridges was hired eight months in advance to recruit and build his first squad.

With his reputation on the line, Coach “B” has delivered four NNESCC and Yankee Conference Championships in his first four seasons. His finale was taking his ladies to the NSCAA National Tournament in Salina, Kansas and becoming the first New England women's team to ever win a game at the Nationals in Kansas.

Year in year out, the Mustangs can be counted on to compete for the Yankee championship and the USCAA National Championship.

Rod Millett, Assistant Coach

Coach Millett is in his third year assisting Coach Bridges on the hardwood. Well liked by the players, Coach Millett assists in all facets of game management. Between recruiting, scouting, and practice, Coach has been involved in all aspects of the game.

Coach Millet started out coaching as an assistant at Bangor High and then moved on to Buckfield in 1976 until 1983 where he coached the boys to a runner-up Western Maine championship in 1977, and won two state championships in 1980, and 1981.

He has been with Coach Bridges for three years and is a steady hand for the program. He is known as a loyal “CM” guy who always has the best interest of the program in mind.
