Central Maine Community College is a student-centered college located in Auburn, Maine, 45 minutes north of Portland in the south central region of Maine. It has a wide variety of academic majors ranging from two-year associate degrees to one-year certificates and four-year transfer options.
The College occupies a 135-acre campus overlooking and bordering Lake Auburn, a popular recreational lake.

Central Maine Community College, one of seven colleges in the Maine Community College System, is located in Auburn, ME.
CMCC has approximately 2,000 students, with a student/faculty ratio at 18:1. The school was founded in 1963, with the current name of Central Maine Community College becoming official on July 1, 2003.
The College's academic programs are well respected as attested by the fact that 96% of students get jobs right out of school, continue their education or both. Classes are available days, evenings and Saturdays to serve a wide range of student schedules.
Central Maine Community College is within easy driving distance to Maine and New Hampshire for snowboarding and skiing in winter, as well as mountain biking and climbing in spring and summer.

What academic programs are offered at Central Maine Community College?
Central Maine Community College has a variety of academic programs, with teaching conducted during 16-week fall and spring semesters.
There are currently 29 majors, with nearly a dozen areas of specialization and concentrations within these majors. An earned Associate in Arts in either General Studies or Liberal Studies is designed to provide the first two years of a bachelor's degree. Also, Associate in Science degrees, and Associate in Applied Science degrees are conferred. In addition, one-year programs culminating with a certificate award are part of CMCC's academic offering.

What is campus life like at CMCC?
In addition to the academic side, Central Maine Community College offers three residence halls on campus that provide housing for 120 students. Resident students have access to a recreation area, snack machines and laundry equipment. Each room is cable ready and wired for both phone and Internet.
Non-residents have access to several lounges, dining facilities and snack machines and recreational areas. The campus also has an athletic field for baseball, softball and soccer games.

Central Maine Community College encourages students to participate in extra-curricular organizations, academic clubs, or other groups.
