Girouard headed to Hall
September, 2009
Lynn
Girouard, a former basketball star at Central Maine Community College (CMCC) will soon be inducted into the New England
Basketball Hall of Fame.
Girouard, who graduated from CMCC in 2003, is among a group of nominees selected for their contributions
to the game of basketball at the high school, prep school and collegiate levels in New England. The inductees have
distinguished themselves in competition or in service to the game.
Nominations to the New England Basketball Hall of Fame come from an appointed nomination committee consisting
of coaches, administrators, and media from each of the six states as well as members of the public. An appointed
selection committee reviews the credentials of each nominee before voting for a class
of inductees. The induction ceremony will take place October 9th at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut.
Lynn was skeptical when informed she had been selected and it wasn’t until CMCC Coach David Gonyea called her
that she realized it was true. “I thought it was quite an honor,” she added.
While a student athlete at CMCC, Lynn earned degrees in general studies and in business administration with a
sports management concentration. A standout on the court, she was a two-time USCAA All-American, four-time
MSCC All-Star, and three-time Yankee Conference All-Star. Lynn is also a member of the
CMCC Athletics Hall of Fame and a former Miss-Maine Basketball.
Lynn resides in Lewiston and is the billing manager for Pediatric Associates of Lewiston.
