1998-1999 Season

The 1998 CMTC baseball team completed another fine season. The season was highlighted with a fourth straight play-off appearance. We finished third in the NNESCC. The season was also marked by a sweep of our rival to the south, SMTC.

The Mustangs field a strong young team that had seven new starters. Second year starter Sam Groomes was elected All Conference catcher. The team saw the emergence of Sean Butler as a premier-starting pitcher. First year starters Scott Roberge, Nick Turnbull, Jamie Folker, Bruce Grover, and Scott Downs stepped into a line-up that finished the year with a .360 team batting average. Chad Dumais and Rob Coleman provided strong team leadership for the young team.

The team is looking forward to the 1999 season. This season the Mustangs will make the transition from a young team to an experienced, explosive team. The highly talented Mustangs look to go deep in 1999 and bring home the championship.
