Transfer programs and agreements

Students are encouraged to consider the possibility of continuing their education toward a four-year degree once they graduate from Central Maine Community College (CM).  The college has cultivated ongoing and major collaborations with other colleges and universities, to support CM students in earning the best education possible.

To that end, CM has articulation agreements with institutions that will honor credits earned at CM toward a baccalaureate degree.

  • Because Central Maine Community College (CM) is accredited by the New England Association of Schools & Colleges, Inc. (NEASC), most academic credits will transfer to other colleges and universities.
  • Policies of colleges and universities differ, so while CM courses are generally transferable, not all courses transfer to all programs at all institutions.
  • Since the receiving college or university has the right to determine whether or not academic credits will transfer, students should consult with representatives at the institution to which they plan to transfer for specific guidelines.

Central Maine Community College, as a member of the Maine Community College System, participates in the AdvantageU Program.  This opportunity provides graduates of the Liberal Studies Associate in Arts program a transfer pathway to any university in the University of Maine System.
