When you become a TRiO participant, you are eligible for these services until you finish your program at CMCC.

TRiO staff members are trained academic advisors. You will get assigned a TRiO advisor when you become a participant in our program.  Advisors can also help assess your learning style and suggest a good match with specific classes and instructors. 

Individualized assistance with applying to 4-year schools, fee waivers, and transfer visits are available for TRiO students.

Each semester we offer a variety of workshops designed to teach students strategies to academic success. Topics include: Time management, Study Skills, and How to Manage Stress.

The College Summer Initiative is a comprehensive orientation that includes math, reading, or computer skills review, confidence and team building activities, and college success strategies.

Our goal is to expose students to people and places they might otherwise not have the option to visit.  Past trips have been to the Museum of Science in Boston, the Art Museum in Portland, a Sea Dogs game, and a Japanese restaurant.

There are a variety of assistive technology options available in the Success Center for students with disabilities.  Software available includes: JAWS, KURZWEIL 3000, and DRAGON NATURALLY SPEAKING.  Students eligible to use these programs are encouraged to see Laura Rifkin if assistance is needed.
