Work Study Jobs
The Federal Work Study program is a need-based program that provides opportunities for employment to eligible students. It is not a grant program; students are paid for hours worked as verified by the students’ assigned supervisor. Federal Work Study wages are subject to the same federal, state and local income taxes as any other earned income. Wages earned under this program must be included as taxable income on the student's federal and state income tax returns. A W-2 form is mailed to each student's permanent home address at the end of each tax year. Federal Work Study funding is very limited; students must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
