Fall 2016 Offering: Supervising People - The Essential Skills for Leaders

The Corporate and Community Services Department at Central Maine Community College is offering a four-part series on “Supervising People: The Essential Skills for Leaders,” on consecutive Thursdays, October 27 to November 17 from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
This program will help managers, supervisors, and team leaders identify communication barriers, performance issues and will provide tools to address difficult employees. Participants will to learn how to tackle difficult issues and improve team productivity. Topics include communication, coaching for improved performance, team building, and handling difficult employees.
The course is led by Marylin Newell, PhD., a long-time educator with experience as an instructor, academic dean, and college president. She holds a master’s degree in adult education and a Ph.D. in management and organization. She is the founder and president of Maine Seminars, a professional development company that specializes in transformational coaching, counseling, and training.
This non-credit course is open to anyone interested in learning effective supervision techniques. Registration for this course is open and ongoing but space is limited. The cost is $269, and includes all materials.
