Central Maine Community College Offers Introduction to Phlebotomy Course

The Corporate and Community Services Department at Central Maine Community College will offer Introduction to Phlebotomy on Tuesday evenings, October 21 to December 16, from 5:00–8:00 p.m.
A combination of lecture, lab and hands-on practical experience, this course will enable students to develop the skills needed to work in an entry level position in medical facilities as a phlebotomist. Coursework includes selecting and preparing the skin puncture site, collecting specimens, adhering to health and safety guidelines, patient/technician relationship, and laboratory record-keeping. Upon completion, students may qualify for employment in hospitals, clinics, physicians' offices and other health care settings.
