CM Foundation Honors Achievements at Annual Dinner

More than 200 people attended the eighth annual Central Maine Community College (CMCC) Annual Dinner held recently at the Hilton Garden Inn in Auburn. The event was hosted by the College’s Education Foundation Board of Directors.
The event included the presentation of awards to students and others for their achievements or contributions to the College. Seated left to right are Liz Oken, Staff Person of the Year; Kim Pfusch, “Yes I Can” Award; Janelle Thornley and Chyanna Millett-Cordwell, All-Maine Academic Team; Brianna Crosby, Student of the Year; Jeanne A.K. Hey and Paulette St. Ours from the University of New England, Partner of the Year; Julie Hansen, Scholarship Recipient of the Year. Standing are Carrington Miller, Male Athlete of the Year; Bob Brainerd, President’s Award; Eileen Steck and Karen White, Faculty Members of the Year; Jack Buckley, Adjunct Faculty Member of the Year; Laura Soohey, Female Athlete of the Year; Rick Tardiff, Alumnus of the Year; Jennie Ingall, “Against All Odds” Award.
Proceeds from the dinner, which are expected to approach $20,000, will benefit the Foundation’s scholarship fund. The mission of the CM Education Foundation is to provide financial support to CMCC and its students, to advocate on behalf of the college, and to nurture relationships with the community and constituencies. The Foundation has raised more than $800,000 in scholarships for the College.
