CMCC wins big grant to offer advanced machinery courses

Central Maine Community College has been awarded a National Science Foundation major grant of $900,000 to go towards a three-year Regional Advanced Machining Partnership. This grant will pay for CMCC to develop a new advanced machining program to address the growing need for highly skilled precision machine workers. The new program will include six courses on advanced machining and result in an advanced certificate for those who complete the program.The program will be offered as an option to graduate of the current 2 year precision machining program as an advanced certificate, or to those in the current workforce looking to advance their skills.
