CMCC Dodgeball Tourney Raises Funds for Auburn PAL
Next Tournament Scheduled for April 22
March 24, 2014
The Kirk Hall gym at Central Maine Community College (CMCC) was rocking recently as a large and enthusiastic group of dodgeball enthusiasts competed in a benefit tournament hosted by the Criminal Justice Club. Seventeen teams participated in the event which raised $650.00 for the Auburn PAL after-school program for inner-city youth. Teams from CMCC competed along with some from the community including the Auburn Police, Fire, and Public Works departments. Criminal Justice Department Chair Matt Tifft said the event’s success exceeded everyone’s expectations and that they will host another tourney on April 22 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. The registration fee is $20.00 for a team of six players. Anyone interested is asked to call Ben in CMCC Student Services at 755-5261.
