CMCC Culinary Students Win Graziano Scholarships
May 6, 2014
Two students in the Culinary Arts Program at Central Maine Community College (CMCC), Brianna Crosby of Wayne and Jacqueline Byron of Auburn were awarded the 2014 Joseph Graziano Scholarships at a reception held recently at the College.
Special guest Tom Jannarone shared some memories about the wonderful life of Joe Graziano, who owned and operated Graziano’s Restaurant in Lisbon for many years before his death in 2000. Jannarone noted how the scholarships, which have been presented to culinary students at CMCC for a number of years, are an important way of preserving Graziano’s legacy of “love through food.”
The Culinary Arts program at CMCC is a one-year certificate program designed to prepare students for employment in a variety of positions in the food service industry. Students may also elect to earn an associate degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Hospitality Management. Anyone interested in this program is encouraged to contact the Admissions Office at 755-5273.
