Gaming Club

What's your platform?

The CGC was started in 2007 by Matt Ward, the current President of the CGC.

The Computer Gaming Club will host periodic gaming events at a location on campus, and LAN parties either on or off campus.

The meetings and on campus LAN parties will take place in J506, and will depend on the times available for the room and the majority of the members. Some CGC gaming events may take place in Fortin Hall.

During LAN parties, the CGC often uses game levels created by students from the "Intro & Advanced Game Level Design" classes. There is a lot of hard work involved in creating a well developed game level. The current game level design engine being used is the Unreal 3 Engine.

Incoming students who wish to take these classes will need to take and pass "Intro to Visual Basic", and own a full legal copy of UT3.

All students, staff and faculty of Central Maine Community College, are welcome to attend the meetings and gaming events after signing the C.G.C. disclaimer form.

Members will discuss new and old video games and the pros and cons of gaming systems, as well as game, engine, and possible software development. Members are required to attend at least one meeting every three months.
