Ford ASSET is a state-of-the art program alternating classroom and laboratory training with paid, on-the-job experience. This program is a collaborative effort of the Ford Motor Company, Ford dealers, and Central Maine Community College.
Upon completion the graduate is prepared to perform all NATEF (P-1) tasks to diagnose and repair:
- Systems associated with automotive chassis components
- Assemblies associated with automotive engine and power transmission systems
- Components associated with any electrical and electronic control systems, as well as accessory ergonomic systems
Develop skills and knowledge pertaining to:
- Computer controlled engine systems
- Computer-managed diagnostics
- Microelectronics
- Complex pneumatic systems
- Composite materials and hydraulics

- General technicians
- Specialists in areas such as:
- Front-End Alignment
- Brakes
- Automatic Transmissions
Graduates may accept positions at:
- Automotive Dealerships
- Service Stations
- Companies with Large Vehicle Fleets
