Architectural and Civil Engineering Technology
The Architectural and Civil Engineering Technology program prepares students to translate the innovative concepts of professional designers and engineers into functioning systems and structures using the language of codes, working drawings, specifications and construction techniques. As students progress though the program they become familiar with materials, basic structural design concepts, mechanical systems for buildings, cost estimating and surveying, while developing proficiency with computers applications used in planning, design and construction.
Graduates of this program typically accept positions with architectural firms, engineering offices, structural or fabrication departments in industrial plants, contractors, land surveyors, building materials supply firms, and municipal or state engineering offices. Graduates are often afforded advanced standing when electing to further their education at other colleges or universities.
